Description

Hold the Rim Gently, Cut the Foot Cleanly

Eight conical rubber buttons grip the rim from the outside, pulling a finished bowl gently back against the aluminum jaw plates. With the rim cushioned and the foot exposed, you can clean up the tenon, sign the bottom, or finish the underside without re-marking work you've already finished.

Each jaw quadrant has tapped holes plus a slot, so you can shift the buttons to accommodate irregular pieces. Made from lightweight aluminum to keep the rotating mass low.

Compatible with SK100 and SK114 chucks. Bolts directly to the accessory mounting jaws supplied with each chuck — no adapter needed, but requires the Long Chuck Key for jaw clearance. Recommended maximum speed: 1,000 rpm. Best on bowls with a substantial rim; not recommended for very fine rims, where wooden jaw plates work better.

  • Fits SK100 and SK114: Bolts directly to each chuck's supplied mounting jaws — Long Chuck Key required for clearance.

In Detail

Once the bowl is shaped, you still need to clean up the foot or remove the tenon — without re-marking the rim. The button jaws solve that: the rubber buttons grip the rim from the outside, leaving the foot exposed for the final cuts.

The 250 mm set covers small-to-mid-size bowls. For larger work up to 400 mm, see the Button Jaws (400 mm).
