The Mega Dovetail for Hefty Bowl Blanks

The Type M (M for Mega) is the largest dovetail jaw in the SK100 system — an external dovetail of 125 mm (4.92") or an internal recess of 100 mm (3.94") at 16 mm (0.63") deep. These are the jaws to choose for turning large platters and bowls from hefty blanks where smaller dovetail sets would run out of grip.

True-circle diameters are 100 mm internal and 125 mm external; the practical range stretches from 91–117 mm (3.58"–4.61") internal and 118–134 mm (4.65"–5.28") external when you can accept some loss of perfect roundness — holding power stays strong even at the edges of the range. Stainless steel construction protects against corrosion.

Recommended for SK100 and SK114 chucks. The SK100 ships ready to mount these directly. To use them on the SK114, you'll need the SK100 Accessory Mounting Jaws (sold separately) since the SK114 ships with SK114-specific mounting jaws.

The Type M is the maximum-capacity dovetail in the SK100 jaw line — 125 mm external or 100 mm recess at 16 mm deep. If you're regularly turning hefty bowl blanks or oversized platters and want the security of a dovetail hold (versus a serrated gripper), this is the choice. For mid-size work where Type M would be overkill, see the Type A Plus Dovetail Jaws.
