Description
Off-Center Turning Without the Workaround
Shift the turning axis on demand. The Eccentric Spiraling Chuck mounts on Type C Dovetail Jaws and lets you produce candlesticks, goblets, jewelry, and box designs that simply aren't possible with the work centered on the spindle axis.
CNC-machined in Axminster, UK. Lightweight, intuitive, and designed by Tony Witham — full instructions in the box.
Key Features
- Three-Plate Eccentric Design: Index plate, pivot plate, and dovetail ring — insert the offset screw, attach, align the pins, and you're set up.
- Fits Type C Dovetail Jaws: Mounts directly on Axminster's 100 mm Type C Dovetail Jaws and 114 mm Type C Dovetail Jaws — or any chuck running 8 mm (0.31") deep, 15° dovetail jaws that adjust to 70 mm (2.76").
- Designs You Can't Get On-Center: Candlesticks, goblets, jewelry, box designs, spiraled stems — all unlocked by the eccentric chuck.
- CNC-Machined in Axminster: Built to the same standard as the chucks it mates to.

- British Made: Designed and manufactured by NuCo Tools in Axminster, Devon, UK.
Create Eccentric Pieces
Off-center turning — without the workaround. The Axminster Eccentric Spiraling Chuck shifts the turning axis of your workpiece so you can produce candlesticks, goblets, jewelry, and box designs that simply aren't possible on-center.
Lightweight, intuitive, and built to fit any chuck running 8 mm (0.31") deep, 15° dovetail jaws that adjust to 70 mm (2.76"), including the Axminster Type C jaws.
Easy to Use
Three components: an index plate, a pivot plate, and a dovetail ring. Insert the offset screw at your chosen position, attach the index plate, align the index pins, and you're set up to turn.

Pairs with Type C Dovetail Jaws (100 mm / 3.94")
Mounts directly on Axminster's 100 mm Type C Dovetail Jaws — one of the most versatile jaw sets in the range, ideal for small bowls and end-grain work that pairs naturally with off-center designs.

Designs You Can't Get On-Center
Candlesticks, goblets, jewelry, decorative boxes, spiraled stems — the eccentric chuck opens up a class of work that isn't possible holding the blank on-axis.

In Detail
Eccentric turning is a popular discipline in the woodturning community for a reason — it opens up a class of work that simply can't be produced on-axis. The Eccentric Spiralling Chuck makes the technique accessible without a custom rig.
The chuck locates onto any chuck with dovetail jaws 8 mm (0.31") deep, 15°, that adjust to 70 mm (2.76") — including Axminster's 100 mm Type C Dovetail Jaws and 114 mm Type C Dovetail Jaws and many other brands.
Full instructions from the original designer, Tony Witham, are included.
