Description
The Drive Center Most Spindle Turners Reach For
These 4-prong drive centers are designed to give non-slip drive when turning between centers. Four sharpened prongs bite into the end-grain, and the hardened center point keeps the work true on the spindle axis. The 4-prong arrangement spreads the bite to minimize the splitting risk that 2-prong drives can introduce — recommended for seasoned, balanced hardwood spindle work.
Place the point on the centerline of your blank, then tap the drive home with a mallet rather than driving it in with the tailstock. That keeps unnecessary pressure off your lathe's bearings.
2MT (Morse Taper) shank fits any lathe headstock with a 2MT socket.
