Click here to see Hans demonstrate the Drop-On TPG Adapter, one-time adjustment, and how it compares to the Slide-On TPG Adatper.
The Drop-On TPG Adapter performs the same function as our Slide-On TPG Adapter, with the added option of even faster setup and removal thanks to its included tool-less quick attachment feature.
Our Drop-On TPG Adapters (formerly known as "Quick" Adapters) represent an economical and reliable means to connect TPG System T-tracks to your Festool or Kreg guide rail. Compatible with all TPG T-tracks (both right- and left-hand), the Drop-On TPG Adapter connects using the M6 Comfort Grip Star Knobs and CNC-Machined Centering Spacers included with each TPG-30 and TPG-30/50 Set. This drop-on adapter will not interfere with track saw plunge cuts, and can be easily moved along the guide rail once properly configured. When placed on your guide rail, the Drop-On TPG Adapter can be fine-tuned by adjusting the two "zero clearance adjustment" screws to eliminate unwanted play; this procedure only has to be performed during first use. When a more permanent attachment is desired, the Drop-On TPG Adapter can be secured to your guide rail with the included torpedo nut and top-mounted M5 flathead screws, just like the Slide-On TPG Adapter. All adjustments can be made with a 3mm Ball Hex Driver (included in the TPG-30 and TPG-30/50 Sets).
The TPG System can utilize TPG Adapters and/or GRS-16 Guide Rail Squares for connecting T-tracks to guide rails. While the GRS-16 is more expensive, you may want to consider at least one GRS-16 in your TPG kit because it enables the patent-pending ability to square and parallel in a single cut, using just one T-track—whereas the TPG Adapter will only ensure your cuts are parallel.
Note: Previous versions of our TPG Adapters included Comfort Grip Knobs and Centering Spacers, along with a 3mm Ball-Hex Driver. These accessories are now included in the TPG-30 and TPG-30/50 Sets, and no longer included with each TPG Adapter. The Knob Set with Centering Spacers can still be purchased as a standalone accessory.
Drop-On TPG Adapter - Initial Setup for Quick Use
- Remove nutplate. Uninstall the nutplate by removing the two flathead screws at the top of the Drop-On TPG Adapter body, and set aside.
- Drop it in. Place the Drop-On TPG Adapter anywhere along the guide rail T-slot (in lieu of sliding it in).
- Adjust zero clearance screws. With the Drop-On TPG Adapter head dropped over the guide rail T-slot, use a 3mm Hex Driver (included in the TPG-30 and TPG-30/50 Sets) to turn the two "zero clearance adjustment" screws clockwise until they lightly touch the guide rail.
- Fine tuning. Carefully back off the adjustment screws just enough that you can lift and replace the Drop-On TPG Adapter, but not so much that you have play between the adapter and guide rail. You should not have to repeat this adjustment procedure for subsequent use on Festool guide rails of the same profile; the adjustment screws feature thread locking compound to prevent unintended movement over time under normal use.

Very easy to adjust. It works very well I have yet to get a bad product from TSO.
The only thing I can tell you is that they are quality products, I use them in combination with Festool products and I am really happy. the price is the least, the quality and precision is what is important to me.
They fit perfectly on my Kreg track, fit secure and are easy to mount and dismount from the track, it only takes seconds. Excellent fit and the finish is superb.
Machining is amazing. I have a couple of these and a GRS-16PE. I can switch between attaching a rail to either the 16PE or one of these adapters and the flip stop calibration measurement stays the same, pretty impressive. What you will discover is there is quite a bit of variation in Festool guide rails, if you were not aware already. I have a couple different lengths of rails and the "rib" that this fastens to is not the same dimension between them, one is tight the other is loose. If you switch between rails you have to compensate. It's a Festool problem, different review, different product, rather annoying. Too bad TSO does not make guide rails.
So far these work great. However, I'm still waiting to purchase and install their Parallel Guide System. I did take a chance purchasing these knowing that I have a Kreg Guide Rail. After figuring out the details/comparisons with the Kreg and Festool guide rails I purchased this and they work/fit great!
So far so good with the adapters. I've been able to hook these up to my Festool track and cut accurately with my Track Saw, which I'm always striving for.
Either way - directly attached to the guide rail or using the Quick Adapter connection feature, these are the smallest and most light weight option available in the market.
If you buy the TPG Parallel Guide System then buy the quick guide rail adapter to go with it. It enables the guide rail to just slot on and off with ease without having to wonder where you left your screwdriver (which is needed for the original adapter). Beautifully made in stunning blue and super quick delivery from TSO.
I was going to purchase the original adapter and add thumb screws to the top in order to make it "tool-less" but then came across these. These can be used with the screws as the original or can be used without the screws/t-nut and attach with the simple pressure of the soft nylon screws. I've set mine so they're snug without being overly snug which could wear out the nylon soft tip screw. They slide on easy, do not fall off, and come off easily ... I'm very pleased with this product.
