Description
Build Your Own MFT-Style Bench for Under $150
As seen on David's popular YouTube channel, the plans for the Stanton bench (Metric and Imperial) are now available through our partnership with Dave Stanton himself. Purchase the plans here for exact, comprehensive dimensions, and go through the build process step-by-step by watching the Stanton bench assembly video. The DIY MFT workbench plans also include links to where you can source the accessories.
As an international first, Dave is including the .3MF files for you to print the legs at home if you have a 3D printer! Note: you will have to adjust the file through a slicing program for your own specific printer.
The Stanton Bench is a versatile, functional and furniture friendly bench that can be stowed away, or slid under a bed, when not in use. When used as directed, this bench is suitable for placement on top of a variety of work surfaces—even kitchen benches or dining room tables—providing a safe and stable surface for cutting, clamping and assembling your work. Among improvements found in Mark III, Dave has added the cost-effective option of routing Dovetail slots, rather than purchasing T-tracks; he finds them stronger than T-tracks and they still support 1/4" T-bolts and a wide array of clamps.
Known for its mobility, the Stanton Bench is easily transported to the jobsite and fits nicely into the back of most vehicles.
A quick note about the plans: they show the hole pattern as a grid. You can choose to create some or all of the holes depending on your particular need. Please note that Dave Stanton is only selling the DIY MFT workbench plans, not any materials or woodworking accessories to build the bench.
Please feel free to watch the videos on his channel to assist in the fun of making this bench. The plans are provided in both Metric and Imperial dimensions.
We're pleased to be able to offer Dave's creations to the TSO community. Please provide feedback to Dave through his YouTube channel and let us know what you create!

Stanton Bench plans
The Stanton Bench plans are simply measured drawings, but between these plans and watching Dave Stanton videos on YouTube I was successful in building this bench. I had to modify the cut and rip hole locations, since I have a Milwaukee Track Saw and guide rails. Quite happy with this build and these plans. Just know that there are no step-by-step text to follow, just measured drawings.

Stanton Bench Plans Mark II
These plans are okay... you must view the videos on how to make this however, because these plans only include drawings and measurements in metric. There are no written instructions. Also, the parts list only list feet that you can order from Australia. There is a separate pdf that works on a 3d printer, I assume, so you can print your own legs... but I'm not interested in doing that or ordering from across the world. The original video shows feet using parts from Rockler, so that probably what I'll do. So, basically, this is useful but not a one and done bit of info that will lead you to an easy build.
